About

Pam has been working with glass since 1974, painting, fusing and blowing. She began making glass beads in 1988 and by 1995 had developed her method of forming hollow glass beads into natural looking fish. Though she specializes in species of fish found on the oceans’ reefs, she also makes birds, like her colorful parrots. Her sculptural beads are designed for display, not to be worn, however she does at times make one-of-a-kind necklaces.

Pam’s work can be seen in galleries throughout the United States, as well as in books and magazines featuring handmade glass beads. She has been a member of The International Society of Glass Beadmakers since 1994 and served on the Board of Directors from 1999 through 2004.

Pam teaches both locally and nationally, but will be focusing her future teaching in the River of Glass Studio.
Barbara's work has always been whimsical, asymmetrical and quite often includes natural settings and animals. Being an artist who loves to get her hands into her work it has been difficult to handle the challenges of hot glass.

Barbara has been lampworking since 2003. Since Barbara holds a full-time position in the world of law, her time at the torch is limited to those hours she can find at night or on weekends.

"I started making flowers for my bracelets and have continued on the road to learning how to make a flower that is both beautiful and wearable. My work has evolved so much over the last three years and my whimsical side continually comes out when I am playing at the torch. My current work incorporates a lot of silver, powdered glass and enamels - I love the unexpected reactive effects."

Barbara’s handmade glass beads reflect her love of nature and together they create wonderful garden settings. Her flowers and leaves are sculptural. Her work includes the use of hand-pulled stringers, powders, frits, dicro, waxes, etching and foils. Always experimenting with different combinations of colors, Barbara’s flowers challenge Mother Nature more then Mother Nature challenges her.
